Neck and shoulder pain can be summed up when the person is suffering from constant or chronic pain in the neck and shoulders. Most of the times when you begin experiencing back pain it is going to move up towards your shoulder because they are attached to each other so this makes it impossible to have one and not experience some discomfort in the other.

Of course it is not uncommon for someone to experience one or the other. It depends on how bad your pain is and how long it has gone untreated. Many people tend to ignore neck and shoulder pain because they tend to believe that it will just go away without them dealing with it.

If you are experiencing neck and shoulder pain then one of the best things you can do is consult your physician. This will ensure that nothing major is occurring. They will most likely want to get an x-ray of your neck and shoulder this will reveal what is going on with your spine.

So what can you do at home for neck and shoulder pain if you are constantly experiencing this type of pain? Well most likely the muscles in your neck and shoulder are extremely tight and you are going to have to loosen them up. Do not worry you can do it and it will begin to feel better in no time at all.

One of the best things that you can do for this type of pain is to take anti-inflammatory medication such as Aleve or Motrin. You will want to read the bottle and begin taking them as indicated.

The next thing you will want ot do is alternate ice and heat to relieve the pain. This may sound extremely simple and trust me it is. Once the pain goes away from the medication and the ice pack and heat pad; then you will want to begin exercising the muscles so that you will not have to experience the neck and shoulder pain again.

You have to learn how to take care of your body. Of course if you begin learning more about how the anatomy works; then you will be able to better understand your body. One of the most important things that you can do is work on your posture. Click Here
